" ON EAGLES WINGS "

Recently my husband noticed a flurry of activity down by our pond.

"PARADISE POND"

At first we thought the Buzzards  were circling . Upon closer inspection and to our amazement it was two Bald Eagles! A Daddy Eagle and his young eaglet !
It appeared they were on a hunting journey . The Daddy sat perched  high upon the top of a tall tree while the baby practiced his flying and diving  techniques above the water.  Junior dove into the water and plucked up a fish a couple of times while his proud Daddy keenly observed the activities from his nearby branch.

"DADDY EAGLE"

Baby kept this repetitive performance going until he seemed to disappear under the thin layer of ice that was left in the corner of the pond.  We saw his wings flapping furiously fighting with something and trying to escape. Back and forth he struggled fighting to get free, each time he surfaced he went back down under the black water longer and longer until he didn't come back up.
Suddenly his head emerged. He flapped tirelessly for a moment, rested and then gathered all of his strength to lift himself up ascending higher and higher on the wind of his wings .
"ON EAGLES WINGS"

We watched breathlessly as his Daddy joined him in flight .Together they flapped their enormous wings soaring high above the trees until they were a speck along the horizon.
It wasn't until later that we discovered  that this bird of prey was struggling to fly off with it's bounty.....a Duck decoy that was anchored with lead weights!
Every time he'd get a hold of it , the anchored duck pulled him under.
Can you imagine how disappointed he must have been to capture a large duck only to find out it wasn't real!
He did not give up easily. He fought the good fight ! All along his Daddy was watching over him. Allowing his child to learn a valuable lesson while never leaving his side.
"WATCHING OVER YOU"

Our Heavenly Father does the same for us. He allows us to go through trials and struggles in order to teach us and make us stronger. He doesn't leave our side and when the time comes he will swoop down and rescue us and carry us when we are weary. When the enemy and circumstances seem to pull us under and we don't have the strength to fly on our own, Our Abba Daddy will be there to cover us with his wings.

One day we  will soar with him high into the heavens of Glory.
"Hallelujah, by and by I'll fly away dear Jesus."

There are 33 scriptures in the Bible about Eagles. The Father has given us Eagles as an example to learn from. I encourage you to meditate on some of these verses and see what God has to say to you.

Here are a few of my favorites:

Deuteronomy 32:11
"Like an Eagle that stirs up its nest, that hovers over its young, He spread His wings and caught them, He carried them on his pinions."

Isaiah 40:31
" Yet those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like Eagles. They will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary."

Psalms 103:5
"He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the Eagle's."
