"BE A GIFT"

By: Donna Selma Lind

Hello! I'm back. I missed you!
It seems like forever since we had the chance to visit. In fact I am a year older since we've been together! Today is my Birthday! Woo-Hoo! I am 55 years young!
That's right, I am the legal speed limit!

It has been a great year and I am looking forward to what God has planned for me in my
55th year.
People have asked what are you doing for your birthday or what gift would you like?
I thought about it and I decided I am so blessed with a wonderful husband a beautiful home, farm and animals. We have our family, friends our church and our health.

Most importantly we have Jesus! He is the everlasting indescribable gift!

So what does a girl who has everything she needs- want for her birthday?

I want to be a gift to someone today!

Yes, I pray that God will use me as a gift. I am a gift to be opened and poured out overflowing with love for his people.

Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, "Whom shall I send? And who will go for us? And I said, "HERE AM I. SEND ME."
Isaiah 6:8

We can have the gift of eternal life if we choose to open the gift of Jesus.

Each of us have been given talents and gifts from God.
"What we do with our talents is our gift back to God. "

Today I ask that you read:
 Matthew 25:14-30
The parable of the talents.

Then ask yourself: What am I doing with the gifts and talents God has given me?
Am I a responsible steward with the gifts he has entrusted me with?
Have I increased the value of the gifts in me by growing and overflowing in others?

We are blessed to be a Blessing!

Share your Blessings.

BE A GIFT TO SOMEONE TODAY!

"CONSIDER THE LILIES"

By: Donna Selma Lind

Working in my Gardens this week I can't help but sense the "Master Gardener" along side of me. The one who created each and every bud, blossom, leaf , petal and flower.
The Creator who hung the moon and dotted the stars in the sky. I stand in awe as I inspect the exquisiteness and unparalleled beauty of each plant and flower He has so lovingly created!

"Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these." Matthew 6:29

"Even the Bees can't resist their beauty!"

Take time to smell the roses and explore God's beauty today!

"The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God will stand forever."

"THE HEART OF THE FATHER"

By: Donna Selma Lind

"How great is the love the Father has lavished on us that we should be called children of God." 1John 3:1

Do you know how much your Heavenly Father loves you?
He made you special!

" Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart."
Jeremiah 1:5

Our image of our Heavenly Father is one of the most important things about us.
Why?  Because it determines our relationship with God and others .
If we have been wounded by our earthly Father , we need healing and help to understand the perfect love of our Abba Father.
"Abba" in Hebrew means Papa it's a term of tender endearment by a beloved child .        "Abba" expresses our relationship with our Heavenly Father .

"You're just like your Dad!"
As we grow closer in our relationship with our Heavenly Father we begin to develop more of his nature and character traits.

As children of God we have our Heavenly Fathers DNA. (Divine Nature of Abba!)
What is in the DNA ?
The Divine Nature of Abba is the Heart of the Father. A heart filled with life, abundance, healing, wholeness, freedom, provision, restoration and Love.
Yes Love , because God is Love!
Along with Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness and Self Control.
Galatians 5:22

We cannot imagine how much our Abba Father loves us!
You are so special to him! He even knows the numbers of hairs on your head.
He has saved all your tears in a bottle. He knows everything you have  ever been through and everything you are going through right now. He will never leave you.
He is always on the side lines cheering you on.

He loves you! He loves you! He loves you!

"And may you have the power to understand, as all Gods people should, how wide, how long, how high and how deep his love is for you."
Ephesians 3:18

"You have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead, you received God's spirit when he adopted you as his own children. Now we call him, Abba Father."
Romans 8:15

"THE CHICKEN LINE"

By:Donna Selma Lind

My husband picked up some chicks  a few weeks ago.
Yea, he's a real chick magnet!
Actually I was with him when he picked them up...some were blondes, a few redheads and several  dark brunettes .
There was about 40 of them and I wasn't sure everybody would fit in the truck but he squeezed them in the back seat and they cackled all the way home!

Donna s. Lind

The dogs didn't know what to think. Especially Judah. The closer the chicks got to him, the more Judah whined and wimpered. He tried to keep still but after a few minutes Judah crossed the line. You know.... the chicken line!

Donna S. Lind
Judah dreaming of Chicken Nuggets.

The line that represents an opportunity on the other side, one you won't get if you stay on the safe side. The line that is a little scary and a little thrilling at the same time.
The line that says "Hey , I see you over there standing in the safe zone.
I dare you to cross over to my side! ( insert dangling carrot )
I have a reward for you over here, but you have to take a step over the line.

We all have chicken lines in our life to cross over. Some are big, some not so big.
Nevertheless, we won't recieve the prize until we take the first step.
Some rewards are temporary some are eternal. Like our salvation. Taking that step leads to our eternal life with our Father in Heaven. Amen.
Not taking the step also leads to eternity but it won't be with the Lord.
We may have an opportunity to start a new job,  go to school or partner in a new business venture but we are afraid we might fail. We will never know until we take that step.
We are tempted to sin. That is a line that we do not want to cross.
Sometimes it is standing up for truth and what is righteous.
Jesus stood up for truth and what was right.  He stood for the little children, the widows and orphans.
And when the adulterous woman was going to be stoned to death, Jesus drew the original chicken line in the sand and said to the angry mob "Let any one of you who is without sin throw the first stone."
No one dared to cross that chicken line!
Some lines we cross are  good and some lines we cross are not good.  It's up to us to seek the Lord and ask for wisdom to know when to cross the chicken line.

So far Judah hasn't crossed the chicken line again , although he did try to kiss a few of the little chicks!
Donna S. Lind
"Lead us not into temptation."

Is there a chicken line in your life that you've been tempted to cross?

If it will bring Glory to God then what are you waiting for? Go ahead cross that line!
I double dog dare you!  Come on go for it! Dream big. Don't be a chicken.
With God by your side you can do it!

"PEEP"

"PEEP...PEEP...PEEP..." The sound of "PEEP'S" interupted my slumber. Was I dreaming? I rolled over...again I heard a faint.."PEEP...PEEP...PEEP..." It wasn't a constant "PEEP" it was a soft measured beat of three "PEEPS" and then it rested.
Ahhh, it must be a battery that needs changing in a smoke alarm. I tiptoed out of bed to the kitchen. Glancing  at the stove clock, it read 2:00 am. Again I heard "PEEP...PEEP...PEEP".
I switched the light on at the top of the basement stairs and headed to where I thought I heard the alarm. Standing on the small stepstool I unscrewed the smoke alarm, pulled the battery and carried it upstairs where I set it on the kitchen counter. I would put a fresh battery in the  morning .

I shuffled back to bed and snuggled under the covers. "PEEP...PEEP...PEEP..."
There was that annoying "PEEP" again! Back in the basement and up on the stepstool again I unscrewed the carbon monoxide alarm. I set it next to the smoke alarm on the counter and got back in bed again.

"PEEP...PEEP...PEEP" Are you kidding me? Where is this coming from? I put on my Nancy Drew cap and headed upstairs. Must be in the back bedroom. I pulled a chair under the alarm and unscrewed it . Again I placed it with the other two alarms on the counter and headed for the third time back to bed. Finally, I am going to get some sleep!

"PEEP...PEEP...PEEP..."
That does it! I stomped up the stairs , dragged the chair into the hall, unscrewed that alarm. Then I marched into the other guest bedroom and pulled that alarm out as well. It PEEPED in my hand and I knew I had the little culprit at last!
Down the stairs once again I dropped the two alarms on the counter with the other three!
I scoped the entire house looking for any alarms I may have missed. All gone. None. Zero Nada.
The whole "PEEPING"nightmare was finally over!
( It reminded me of Edgar Allen Poe's "TELL TALE HEART". )

The time was now 3:00 am.
By this time the dogs were restless following me around from room to room. Joy stood by the back door so I let her out .I stood on the porch in the dark staring at the stars and sliver of a moon that hung in the sky. It was still and quiet except for a rustling of leaves.

And then I heard it...."PEEP...PEEP...PEEP"!

Am I losing my mind? I have unscrewed every alarm in the house! "PEEP...PEEP...PEEP.."

And then it dawns on me...I am outside and now I am hearing the "Peeper Frogs!"

Oh Glory to God! I thought I was cracking up!
I looked up to the Heavens and I said "Lord, you have such a sense of humor!"

It took me a while, but I finally got back to sleep. In the morning Stanley looked at the counter and said "What are all these alarms and batteries doing here?"

I gave him a dirty look and told him,
"Don't ask, and I don't want to hear a "PEEP" out of you about this again!

There are days when the Lord is trying to get our attention.
Sometimes it is a gentle whisper "PEEP...PEEP...PEEP"in the distance. Sometimes it is a full blown alarm! The key is to be still listen and learn his voice so when he is trying to warn us of something to come, we will hear the
PEEP before it's too late.

Has the Lord been whispering something in your ear lately?

"The Lord said,"Go out and stand on the mountain in the presence of the LORD, for the LORD is about to pass by."...A great wind tore the mountains apart...but the Lord was not in the wind. There was an earthquake, but the Lord was not in the earthquake. Then came a fire, but the Lord was not in the fire. And after the fire, came a gentle whisper. And the LORD whispered to him, "What are you doing here?"
1Kings 19:11-13

We can all use a good Trumpet blowing alarm of revelation from the Lord.
But frequently it is the still small voice and gentle whispers of God that can bring about a fresh wind of instruction and encouragement into our lives.

" CROSSROADS"

Last week we went to our favorite Japanese strolling garden to admire the Cherry tree blossoms.  The trees were loaded with puffy pink and white blooms some shaped like snowballs and some that hung like tassles.

A warm breeze floated by sending a sweet perfume mixture of cherry blossoms, hyacinth and jonquil blooms.  A cacophonous symphony for my sniffer! :-)

We began our journey with a series of paths. One meandered around and one was more or less straight.

Sometimes, standing at the crossroads it's hard to decide which path to choose.
Have you ever been at a junction in life and you need to make a choice to change the path you've been on?
It could be starting or ending a relationship. It might be a job , career or a school change.        It may be time to move or time to stay. Time to start or time to stop. No matter what crossroads lie before you , one thing is certain, you have to decide which path you will choose.

This is what the Lord says: "Stand at the crossroads and look; ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.
 Jeremiah 6:16

The most important path we will ever choose is the road to Heaven. There is only one way to get there and his name is Jesus Christ.  Once again it is a choice. When we decide to go down that path we have the blessed assurance that we will never walk alone again.
The Lord will be with us to guide and protect us along the way.

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalm 119:105

The perfume of cherry blossoms pales in comparison to the sweet aroma of the Lord!

Eternity awaits to those who choose to follow Jesus!

You make known to me the path of life; you fill me with joy in your presence, with eternal pleasures at your right hand.
 Psalm 16:11

"IS THE GRASS REALLY GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE?"

By:Donna Selma Lind

Call it Envy, Coveting, Jealously, Boredom or whatever you want.
Let's be real , we have all wondered what the grass looks like on the other side of the fence .       I have come to the conclusion that it is a matter of perspective and how we choose to look at it.
Case in point: Last week our Llama "Angel "decided she didn't want to stay in the pasture with the sheep. She ran away to what she thought was  "greener grass".

Because she was being stubborn munching  on her fresh greens she didn't pay attention to the Shepherd's voice and she wandered into an unsafe territory. She and her baby had to spend the night outside of the fenced pasture. They left behind the safety and security of a warm shelter fresh drinking water and the protection of a fence. What once seemed like greener grass and a better place to live, now felt unsafe and scary.  Angel sat at the same fence only this time she was looking in instead of looking out. She was longing to go back to the safety, security and family she once had. The grass may have looked greener on the other side of the fence , but now she realized and appreciated what she had all along . When the gate was opened the next morning she ran in and all the sheep gathered around her b-a-a-a-ing and welcoming Angel and her baby home.

So how about it? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live someone elses life or have a better job, a nicer car a bigger house a different spouse? Be real, you know you have.
We all have. If we had more time, more money, more this and more of that it would be better.
Consider what the Bible has to teach us  about this subject.

"And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person's envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
Ecclesiastes 4:4
"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

No matter what side of the fence we are on the grass always looks greener......
until we get to the other side.

Be thankful and appreciate what you have , who you have and where you are.
"In everything give thanks!"

"HELP IS ON THE WAY"

By: Donna Selma Lind

Donna S. Lind copyright

Hi there! I was thinking about you today, wondering how you were doing? It's been awhile since we visited.
Have you ever had one of those days where you just feel a  little yucky?
Kinda like everything seems to be out of whack?  ( I need some whack!)

Donna S. Lind copyright

There are times when we feel lost and forgotten and  everybody seems to be  squeezing the stuffing out of us!
Donna S. Lind copyright
H-E-L-L-O! I AM GETTING SQUEEZED IN THE MIDDLE HERE!

There are times when we feel like we can't breathe.
But then God our Father sends a friend to help and encourage us.
"A Friend loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17

In fact, there are times when He calls in the troops and sends in an Army  to stand by us and show us the way home.

" I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Psalm 32:8

The Father said "Come to me, all who  labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

God wanted me to tell you that whatever trial you are facing, you are not alone.
Whatever the problem is, He will help you.
If you are feeling lost or forgotten, He will find you.

Don't look down.  LOOK UP!

HELP is on the way...and his name is JESUS!

Hang in there. The Good Shepherd has not forgotten you.
He loves you and is drawing near to you right now!
Won't you draw near to Him?

"GOT JOY ? "

"GOT JOY ?"

Ever notice how some people always seem so joyful and others don't? Often times the one who seems to offer an encouraging word and a smile may very well be the person who is going through the biggest trial of their life...and yet they remain JOYFUL.
How can they have JOY in the midst of their circumstances?

First let me explain the difference between JOY and Happiness. Though often mixed together as the same they are entirely different.
Happiness is an emotion that is based on our external circumstances  mood and environment. Whereas true JOY  comes from the Lord. JOY is internal and comes from abiding in the Lord. When we fellowship with our Savior He fills us up with his fruits of the spirit and JOY is one of those fruits! JOY makes us strong!

I've been teaching on the book "RECLAIMING YOUR JOY" by Lorraine Hill and I am learning that the deeper my relationship is with the Lord the more JOY I will have. The more JOY I have the more I can share with others!  HELLO OVERFLOW!

The Bible refers  to "Unspeakable JOY."  1 Peter 1:8
The JOY of the Lord is so Awesome that we can't put it into words!

JOY is ours to share with those around us although we must be careful not to let the enemy steal it from us due to people, circumstances, trials and tribulations.
"Unshakable, Unbreakable, Unwavering JOY!)

If we abide in the Lord we will remain in JOY!

"These things I have spoken to you that My JOY may remain in you,
and that your JOY may be full."
John 15:11

" I've got the JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY down in my heart!"

GOT JOY?

" THE ETERNAL VALENTINE "

Daddy, is there a script in the Bible for Valentines day?
I overheard little Joshua ask his Father at Church on Wednesday night.
Again he quized; Daddy, is there a script in the Bible for Valentines day?
No son, there is no script in the Bible for Valentines day.
Daddy, are you sure there is no script in the Bible for Valentines day?
Son, there is no script in the Bible for Valentines day!
The smile on little Joshua's face evaporated.
I wanted to tell the kids in my class I knew a Bible script for Valentines day.

I didn't want to interfere with the Fathers answer to his son but I had to make an exception in this case.
Josh, guess what? I interrupted. There is a scripture in the Bible for Valentines day!
His smile returned and his blue eyes began to twinkle.

I stretched out my arms wide and shared the Valentines day scripture with him:

"FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE HIS ONLY SON, THAT WHOEVER BELIEVES IN HIM SHALL NOT PERISH BUT HAVE ETERNAL LIFE." JOHN 3:16

Josh's Dad smiled, then chimed in and finished the verse with me. His son was shouting "Yeah" and "Woo-Hoo" as he skipped into his classroom happy to have his Valentines script to share.

I wished I could have explained to Josh that the entire Bible is a Valentines Love Letter from God to all of us. That he sent his son Jesus to be "The Eternal Valentine" and that His love never fails and never gives up on us. 1Corinthians 13 ( The Love Chapter)

Even when we sin, He still loves us. Romans 5:8

Nothing can separate us from His love. Romans 8:37-39

He is faithful . Deuteronomy 7:9

He is my helper. Isaiah 41:13

GOD IS LOVE ! 1 John 4:8

THERE IS ONLY ONE ETERNAL VALENTINE. HE GAVE HIS LIFE FOR YOU!

GIVE YOUR HEART TO JESUS!

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY!

"DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS & DIVINE APPOINTMENTS"

By: Donna Selma Lind

OKAY, I ADMIT IT.
I 'M A GOAL ORIENTED, AMBITIOUS, LIST MAKER,  SCHEDULE TAKER, ORGANIZING JUNKIE!  I LIKE ORDER, PRODUCTIVITY AND EVERYTHING TO BE NEAT AND TIDY! I LIKE TO WORK! NO ROOM FOR LAZY IN ANY OF MY BONES!
I'M A PLANNER. EVERY MORNING SINCE I WAS A KID I MAKE A LIST , A ROAD MAP OF THE JOURNEY I PLAN TO EMBARK  ON FROM SUN UP TO SUN DOWN. I'M A WORKING BEE!
REST IS FOR WIMPS!
( I'VE  BEEN TOLD I SHOULD HAVE BEEN A MARINE CORPS DRILL SARGENT!HE -HE:)

MY GOAL FOR THE DAY IS TO CHECK OFF ALL MY GOALS FOR THE DAY!  :)

SO, WHY IS IT THAT I SEEM TO ALWAYS HAVE LEFTOVER UNFINISHED GOALS THAT MAKE IT TO THE TOP OF TOMORROWS LIST?
THERE IS USUALLY A DISTRACTION OR INTERRUPTION THAT I DIDN'T PLAN FOR. SOMETHING OR SOMEONE THAT NEEDS MY ATTENTION MORE THAN THE GOALS ON MY LIST.

I USED TO GET FRUSTRATED AND ANNOYED AT THESE INTERRUPTIONS . THROUGH THE YEARS THE LORD HAS BEEN TEACHING ME TO RECOGNIZE WHEN THEY ARE DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS AND DIVINE APPOINTMENTS FROM HIM AND WHEN THEY ARE DISTRACTIONS FROM THE ENEMY.
AS THE SCALES FALL FROM MY EYES AND MY HEART I AM LEARNING TO EMBRACE THE DIVINE INTERRUPTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS FROM MY HEAVENLY FATHER.
I AM LEARNING TO LET GO OF MY OLD LEGALISTIC AND RIGID WAYS OF HAVING THINGS MY WAY AND IN MY TIME FRAME.
PART OF BEING FREE IN CHRIST IS LETTING GO OF THE ROPES, DROPPING MY SAIL AND ALLOWING HIM TO STEER MY BOAT.

THE LORD DIRECTS THE STEPS OF THE GODLY.   HE DELIGHTS IN EVERY DETAIL OF THEIR LIVES.
PSALM 37:23
Donna S. Lind
hallelujahherald.blogspot.com

SO WHAT IF I DON'T GET ALL THE GOALS ON MY LIST CHECKED,  MY HOUSE ACTUALLY IS DUSTY AND I HAVE A FEW DISHES IN THE SINK. NEWSFLASH........ IT'S OKAY.  I'M NOT PERFECT! I NO LONGER SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF.
JESUS CAME TO LIVE IN MY HEART AND I'VE BEEN SET FREE!  HALLELUJAH!
THIS PAST WEEK HAS BEEN FULL OF DIVINE  INTERRUPTIONS & APPOINTMENTS. SOME HAVE BEEN PROFOUND SUCH AS GIVING AN ENCOURAGING WORD TO A YOUNG MAN WHO WAS IN A CRISIS. PRAYING WITH A WOMAN WHO LOST HER DAUGHTER.  TALKING WITH A TEENAGER WHO IS STRUGGLING WITH AN EMOTIONAL DISORDER.
SHARING THE JOY OF THE LORD WITH THE UPS DRIVER!
I DID NOT HAVE THESE PEOPLE OR SITUATIONS ON MY SCHEDULE....BUT GOD DID AND THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS!

DIRECT MY FOOTSTEPS BY YOUR PROMISE, AND DO NOT LET ANY INIQUITY RULE OVER ME.
PSALM 119:133
Donna S. Lind
hallelujahherald.blogspot.com
I WANT TO STAY OBEDIENT TO HIS WILL AND STAY OPEN TO HIS PLANS EVEN IF I DIDN'T HAVE THEM ON MY LIST OF GOALS FOR THE DAY! THE THINGS I DIDN'T GET DONE WILL MAKE IT ON TOMORROWS LIST AND IF THEY ARE NOT PART OF GOD'S DIVINE PLAN THEY ARE NOT IMPORTANT!
HOW DO I KNOW IF IT IS A DIVINE INTERRUPTION FROM GOD OR A DISTRACTION FROM THE ENEMY?
I  HAVE TO ASK MYSELF THESE QUESTIONS: DOES THIS GIVE GLORY TO THE KING? DOES IT PRODUCE LOVE, JOY, PEACE AND FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT?
IF IT CAUSES CONFUSION, DIVISION AND DOES NOT BRING PEACE IT'S EASY TO SAY IT IS NOT FROM THE FATHER.
Donna S. Lind

I AM LEARNING TO ENJOY THE LIFE THAT HE HAS GIVEN ME. NOW I LOOK FORWARD TO SEEING WHAT MY HEAVENLY FATHER HAS PLANNED FOR US
 NEXT!
WE CAN MAKE OUR PLANS, BUT THE LORD DETERMINES OUR STEPS.
