"IS THE GRASS REALLY GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE?"

By:Donna Selma Lind

Call it Envy, Coveting, Jealously, Boredom or whatever you want.
Let's be real , we have all wondered what the grass looks like on the other side of the fence .       I have come to the conclusion that it is a matter of perspective and how we choose to look at it.
Case in point: Last week our Llama "Angel "decided she didn't want to stay in the pasture with the sheep. She ran away to what she thought was  "greener grass".

Because she was being stubborn munching  on her fresh greens she didn't pay attention to the Shepherd's voice and she wandered into an unsafe territory. She and her baby had to spend the night outside of the fenced pasture. They left behind the safety and security of a warm shelter fresh drinking water and the protection of a fence. What once seemed like greener grass and a better place to live, now felt unsafe and scary.  Angel sat at the same fence only this time she was looking in instead of looking out. She was longing to go back to the safety, security and family she once had. The grass may have looked greener on the other side of the fence , but now she realized and appreciated what she had all along . When the gate was opened the next morning she ran in and all the sheep gathered around her b-a-a-a-ing and welcoming Angel and her baby home.

So how about it? Have you ever wondered what it would be like to live someone elses life or have a better job, a nicer car a bigger house a different spouse? Be real, you know you have.
We all have. If we had more time, more money, more this and more of that it would be better.
Consider what the Bible has to teach us  about this subject.

"And I saw that all toil and all achievement spring from one person's envy of another. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind."
Ecclesiastes 4:4
"Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Hebrews 13:5

No matter what side of the fence we are on the grass always looks greener......
until we get to the other side.

Be thankful and appreciate what you have , who you have and where you are.
"In everything give thanks!"

"HELP IS ON THE WAY"

By: Donna Selma Lind

Hi there! I was thinking about you today, wondering how you were doing? It's been awhile since we visited.
Have you ever had one of those days where you just feel a  little yucky?
Kinda like everything seems to be out of whack?  ( I need some whack!)

There are times when we feel lost and forgotten and  everybody seems to be  squeezing the stuffing out of us!

H-E-L-L-O! I AM GETTING SQUEEZED IN THE MIDDLE HERE!

There are times when we feel like we can't breathe.
But then God our Father sends a friend to help and encourage us.
"A Friend loves at all times." Proverbs 17:17

In fact, there are times when He calls in the troops and sends in an Army  to stand by us and show us the way home.

" I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go." Psalm 32:8

The Father said "Come to me, all who  labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28

God wanted me to tell you that whatever trial you are facing, you are not alone.
Whatever the problem is, He will help you.
If you are feeling lost or forgotten, He will find you.

Don't look down.  LOOK UP!

HELP is on the way...and his name is JESUS!

Hang in there. The Good Shepherd has not forgotten you.
He loves you and is drawing near to you right now!
Won't you draw near to Him?

"GOT JOY ? "

"GOT JOY ?"

Ever notice how some people always seem so joyful and others don't? Often times the one who seems to offer an encouraging word and a smile may very well be the person who is going through the biggest trial of their life...and yet they remain JOYFUL.
How can they have JOY in the midst of their circumstances?

First let me explain the difference between JOY and Happiness. Though often mixed together as the same they are entirely different.
Happiness is an emotion that is based on our external circumstances  mood and environment. Whereas true JOY  comes from the Lord. JOY is internal and comes from abiding in the Lord. When we fellowship with our Savior He fills us up with his fruits of the spirit and JOY is one of those fruits! JOY makes us strong!

I've been teaching on the book "RECLAIMING YOUR JOY" by Lorraine Hill and I am learning that the deeper my relationship is with the Lord the more JOY I will have. The more JOY I have the more I can share with others!  HELLO OVERFLOW!

The Bible refers  to "Unspeakable JOY."  1 Peter 1:8
The JOY of the Lord is so Awesome that we can't put it into words!

JOY is ours to share with those around us although we must be careful not to let the enemy steal it from us due to people, circumstances, trials and tribulations.
"Unshakable, Unbreakable, Unwavering JOY!)

If we abide in the Lord we will remain in JOY!

"These things I have spoken to you that My JOY may remain in you,
and that your JOY may be full."
John 15:11

" I've got the JOY, JOY, JOY, JOY down in my heart!"

GOT JOY?
